This project involved the conversion of a Lebanese restaurant into Retox, a bar and lounge located within Holiday Inn, Al Barsha, Dubai. The primary challenge was to completely redefine the identity of the space while working within a limited budget and retaining key existing elements, including the stone wall finishes. The design approach focused on reinterpreting the existing framework rather than replacing it. Strategic lighting, bold graphic installations, and layered materials were introduced to create a strong visual identity and an immersive atmosphere. Graffiti-style feature walls and ambient lighting were used to inject energy and character into the space. The bar was designed as a central focal point, with illuminated shelving and accent lighting enhancing the overall experience. Seating layouts were reconfigured to support both intimate and social settings, ensuring flexibility and flow within the space. The result is a high-impact transformation that demonstrates how thoughtful design can elevate an environment significantly, even within constraints, creating a distinctive and engaging nightlife destination.
